Bronxville Police: Hurricane Irene Alert #6

This message was sent by Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale late Monday night.

Power has been restored to many homes today. Con Edison is currently working on repairing damage on Northwestway which will restore power to many homes in the area tonight. Tomorrow morning Con Ed will begin repairs on Avon Road to help restore more customers to that neighborhood.

A substation on lower Milburn Street was damaged from the flood waters and has resulted in power outages for homes on Parkway Road - Dewitt Avenue - and businesses on Paxton Avenue - Lower Milburn Street - and Stone Place. Con Edison hopes to have the substation repaired by Wednesday afternoon.

If you have lost power it is critical that you notify Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED. Do not assume that you are part of a larger outage that has been reported. Many homes were restored today after individual repairs were completed.

All roadways previously closed by flooding or downed trees have been re-opened.
