Bystander Dies in Undercover Police Shooting in Mount Vernon
He was one of two people shot Friday.

Mount Vernon resident Felix Kumi, 61, died early Saturday after he was shot during an undercover police operation gone awry in Mount Vernon on Friday, according to authorities.
The NYPD, which was conducting the undercover investigation in Mount Vernon, said Kumi was shot twice while he was standing behind a suspect in an illegal firearms operation. The shooter was a member of the NYPD Firearms Investigation Unit, reports The Journal News.
One of the suspects in the gun investigation was shot three times and is being treated at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. The other suspect, 28-year-old Jeffrey Aristy, of the Bronx, was tracked down after he fled the 4 p.m. shooting and was arrested.
