The Chapel School Service & Leadership Campers Give Back

BRONXVILLE, NY: The “men” of The Chapel School’s newest camp (Service & Leadership) held a bake sale. The campers had wanted to raise $100 for the Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen & ECAP. During the hour long sale, the campers not only reached but more doubled their goal. “Wow, I can’t believe we made all that money for charity,” exclaimed one happy camper. “We helped to make all the baked goods,” stated another. Through classroom activities and community based projects, participants explored the traits of successful leaders and learned how to use those skills to help make a positive impact on our world. They were encouraged and empowered to serve and lead by setting goals, making decisions, solving problems, and working as a team. Students were equipped with the knowledge and tools to take what they’ve learned out of camp and practice serving and leading in their lives.

Kate Marino, The Chapel School Music Teacher for Pre-K through grade 2 and Youth Minister of the Village Lutheran Church, was the instructor of the camp. The Chapel School is located at 172 White Plains Road in Bronxville, New York.
