Students in The Chapel Middle School began the year reviewing the scientific method, lab safety, and scientific tools. They learned about using compound light microscopes and began hands on activities to explore scientific inquiry skills and measurement. “WOAH!! Look at this onion under the microscope, that is sooo cool, you can see the cell wall!”

Science classes are an important part of The Chapel School’s Curriculum. A staff member stated, “We want to foster a love of learning, exploring, and excitement about the world.” The focus of the program is to encourage the students to think scientifically by practicing science process skills and critical thinking skills. The use of the scientific method will help the students “think” like scientists and develop a deeper understanding of fundamental concepts and ideas.
