Coming Soon: Candidates in Eastchester Fall Elections Answer Your Questions

With a little less than three months until this fall’s Eastchester Town elections, it seems that only two out of seven positions will be contested, with all others set to be filled with incumbent Republican candidates. The positions up for election in November are Town Supervisor, Town Clerk, Receiver of Taxes, the two Town Judges and two Town Board seats.

Led by current Eastchester Supervisor Anthony Colavita – who will be running for his fifth term – the Eastchester Republicans will field a full slate of candidates in 2011, including Town Clerk Linda Doherty, Receiver of Taxes Rocco Cacciola and Town Justices Domenick Porco and Janet Calano who will all bid for re-election. Town Councilmen Glenn Bellitto and Joseph Dooley, who currently serve on the Town Board, will be up for election for the first time, as both were appointed to their positions in this last term.

Amid questions concerning whether or not they would run any candidates in the fall elections, the Eastchester Democratic Committee announced in June that Committee Chair John Filiberti and Bronxville Manor resident Anita Rosner would be contesting the two Town Board seats currently held by Bellitto and Dooley. No other Democratic candidates have made clear their intentions of running for office in November.
