Doris Kearns Goodwin, Presidential Historian, to Speak at Manhattanville College Castle Conversations December 2, 2015
News Commentator and prolific author to conclude highly successful public forum series, Castle Conversations, at Manhattanvillle College.

Purchase, NY, November 2, 2015 -- Noted presidential historian, news commentator and prolific author Doris Kearns Goodwin will speak at Manhattanville College on December 2 at 7 p.m. Her talk will conclude this year’s highly successful Castle Conversations, a speaker’s forum hosted by the College and featuring the nation’s top historians, journalists, and scientists.
Goodwin, a Pulitzer Prize winner, is the author of six critically acclaimed and New York Times best-selling books, including her most recent, The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism (November, 2013). Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Studios has acquired the film rights to the book. Goodwin and Spielberg previously worked together on Lincoln, a film based in part on Goodwin’s biography of the famous 16th president.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Goodwin graduated from Colby College, earned a PhD in government from Harvard University, was a White House Fellow during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration, and taught government at Harvard for a decade. She is well known for her appearances and commentary on television, where she has been seen frequently on NBC, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, CNN, The Charlie Rose Show, and Meet The Press.
