Eastchester FD Headquarters Receives Makeover
Senator Jeffrey Klein (D- Westchester) visited the facility on Wednesday to see the improvements that have been made courtesy of funding that the Senator had secured for Eastchester FD.
On Wednesday, Senator Jeffrey Klein received a tour of the and announced that renovations were finally complete on the Eastchester Firehouse Headquarters, a top budget priority for the Senator.
The Senator had allocated $100,000 in capital funds in previous years for renovations of the second floor dormitory space and for other needed infrastructure.

Upon his visit to Fire Headquarters, he met with some of the firemen and reviewed the improvements.
“These men and women risk their lives day in and day out to keep their neighbors safe," stated Senator Klein. “I’m proud to have helped fund these much needed improvements for Eastchester’s Bravest."

Revocations were made to the second floor dormitory space included new bathrooms, room dividers for individual privacy, personal lockers, and an upgraded heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
With the remaining funds, the Fire Department was able to result a suspension system to be able to safely raise the fire truck to allow personal to complete maintenance repairs on the truck without having to place it on cinderblocks or relocate the engine to an outside vendor.
“We greatly appreciative of Senator Klein’s efforts” said Shawn Stewart, President of the Eastchester Professional Fire Fighters Union Local 916. “These monies went a long way towards improving the firehouse”.
“It’s greatly appreciated that the Senator secured these funds” added Chief Michael Grogan of the Eastchester Fire Department.
