Eastchester Police Blotter: Cars Damaged, Beer Taken, Computer Swiped

A look at some of the incidents investigated by the Eastchester Police Department.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Eastchester Police Department for the week of July 12 – July 18, 2010.

 

July 13:

7:47 a.m. A caller reported to police that the lock on the driver's side door of his 2009 Honda Accord had been damaged. The caller noticed it went he went out to the car, which was parked in the driveway of his home.

9:08 a.m. A caller reported that a doorframe in the back of 451 White Plains Road had been damaged. Police investigated, could not determine what caused the damage.

 

11:47 a.m. Police received a call about car damage. A tree company had been working in the area and a caller reported that his car, a 1990 Ford Mustang, had scratches, multiple dents, scuffs and tree sap on the roof.

 

July 14:

7:05 p.m. An employee at Lord & Taylor called to report that a shoplifting incident had been caught on surveillance video. Police were given a copy of the video. A total of $235 in assorted jewelry was taken from the store.

 

July 17:

12:24 p.m. A caller from the A & P Supermarket reported to police that a surveillance video showed a man taking two cases of Corona Light beer from the store and loading them into his car. The store had the man's wife in custody and she called him and he returned to the location. The man, a New Rochelle resident, was arrested and charged with petit larceny. He is due in court on July 21.

 

July 18:

12:13 a.m. A man who was a DJ at a party at Lake Isle reported to police that his laptop and carrying case had been taken. They were valued at $2,400. There were also a hard drives in the computer, which were valued at $180 each. Police are currently investigating the matter.
