Eastchester Police Blotter: Drug Arrest, Tires Taken from Car

A look at some of the incidents investigated by the Eastchester Police Department.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Eastchester Police Department for the week of July 19 – July 25, 2010.

 

July 19:

7:32 a.m. A caller reported that two tires and rims had been removed from a 1994 Acura, parked at the Mobile Gas Station on White Plains Road. The incident was seen on a surveillance video and was said to have occurred around 2:30 a.m. The tires were valued at $250 each.

9:30 a.m. The driver of a 2003 Honda Accord was stopped by police for having an un-inspected car. Police also found that the driver was driving with a suspended license. The driver was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, 3rd. He is due in court on July 28.

4 p.m. A caller reported to police that a person who had taken merchandise from Old Navy, had been stopped attempting to leave the store. Police arrived and the woman was arrested and charged with petit larceny. It was reported that about $150 worth of merchandise was taken from the store. The woman was released on $100 cash bail and is due in court on August 4.

5 p.m. A driver was on the way to the police station to pick up the person arrested at Old Navy. On the way to the station, the driver got into a traffic dispute and both parties went to headquarters. The driver became unruly, police said, and was arrested for harassment, 2nd degree and disorderly conduct. The driver was released on her own recognizance and is set to appear in court on August 4.

July 20:

3:40 p.m. A driver struck the place where a sewer cap was missing at the intersection of Burnham Road and Park Drive, damaging the rim and tire of the car.

July 23:

1:30 p.m. On Dale Road, just over the Eastchester border, a Tuckahoe police officer reported seeing someone slumped over at the wheel inside a car. Upon investigation, the officer saw a bag with marijuana on the person's lap. Since it was in Eastchester, the EPD were called and they arrested the person for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

10 p.m. An 18-year-old was found with a forged Delaware license at the A&P on White Plains Road. The teen was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, 3rd degree. The teen was said to be buying two cases of beer. Three other teens, who were also on the scene, were issued summons for possessing alcohol. The teen is due in court on July 28. 

July 24:

8:36 p.m. The owner of a 2003 Lincoln called police to report that it looked as if someone had broken into the car and attempted to remove the airbag. Instead, an EZ Pass and some loose change were taken.

July 25:

12:24 p.m. The owner of 2005 Cadillac called police to report that someone had put two bricks under the car and lug nuts were missing from a tire. Police said it seemed that someone had attempted to steal the tire, but then left. The car was parked in the owner's driveway.

7:53 p.m. A caller reported that her son and his friend's cell phones were taken from an unlocked locker at New York Sports Club. One phone was valued at $250 and the other was valued at $150.
