Eastchester Police Blotter: June 28 – July 5: Drug Arrest, Meats, Champagne Swiped, Pocketbook Missing

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Eastchester Police Department for the week of June 28 – July 5, 2010.

 

June 30:

2:57 p.m. An employee of the A&P/Food Emporium called to report a shoplifting. Police arrested a 29-year-old Eastchester resident and a 45-year-old Eastchester resident. A total of $28.95 worth of assorted meats had been taken.

July 3:

2:24 p.m. Police were called to a resident's house over a domestic dispute between a mother and a son. When police checked the son, a 22-year-old Eastchester resident, they found a hypodermic needle. He was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument as well as criminal mischief in the 4th degree, for having damaged a wall during the argument. He was arraigned and bail was set at $1,500 cash or $10,000 bond. The resident was unable to make bail, so he was sent to Westchester County Jail. And order of protection was also issued.

4:49 p.m. The owner of Casa Brusco restaurant on 219 Main St. called police to report that an employee had taken some items, which turned out to be about $340 worth of assorted wine and champagne. Police arrested the employee and charged him with petit larceny. He was later released on his own recognizance. 

9:15 p.m. Police stopped a 25-year-old Eastchester resident, who was driving on Sunnyside Terrace, for not using his signal when making a turn. After the stop, police found that the driver had both a prescription pill bottle containing an OxyContin pill and a clear bag of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th. He was released on $100 cash bail and is set to appear in court on July 7.

July 4:

2:56 p.m. While shopping in Lord & Taylor on White Plains Road, a woman left her Coach pocketbook in the dressing room. When she realized she had left it and went back to get it, she found that the bag, which was valued at $200 and contained $100 cash and other personal items, was missing.

 

In total, the Eastchester Police Department received about 14 calls for various fireworks complaints. No major incidents occurred, police said.
