Eastchester Police Blotter June 7 – 13: Stolen Car, Overturned Potted Plants

A look at some of the incidents reported by the Eastchester Police Department

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Eastchester Police Department for the week of June 7 – 13, 2010.

June 8:

9:08 a.m. The owner of the Scarsdale Pizza Station on Scarsdale Ave called police to report that two of his potted plants, which were outside the store, had been damaged. They had been rolled on the sidewalk, ruining the flowers and plants.

June 9:

8:04 a.m. A caller reported that the back window of her car, which was parked in front of her house, had been broken. The incident happened sometime between 7 p.m. on June 8 and before 8 a.m. on June 9. The resident did hear a noise overnight, but didn't look into what it was.

June 10:

9:10 p.m. A 2003 Dodge Stratus was reported as stolen. The car was parked on Fisher Ave on June 10 at about 4:45 p.m. and when the owner returned at about 9 p.m. the car was gone. The owner reported that the car was taken at some point during that time. 

June 11

6:50 p.m. Officers met with a caller who reported that her front passenger window had been broken and her pocketbook was taken from the car, a 2009 BMW. The caller, a New Rochelle resident, said that she had parked her car on Ackerman Place at about 6 p.m. and then gone into the Equinox gym. While there, she was told her window was broken. When she went to look, she found the damaged window, as well as the fact that her pocketbook, which contained personal items and about $100 in case, had been taken. Police do not know what was used to break the window.

June 13:

6:43 a.m. While walking by the Maple Corner Deli on Brook St., a police officer saw that the flowers and dirt from a planter in front of the business had been pushed onto the sidewalk.
