Eastchester Students Team with Keller Williams to Aid Special Education
The effort is part of the company's annual "RED Day" of volunteer service to communities.
Associates with the real estate firm Keller Williams will work with Eastchester School District students on May 14 as part of ”RED Day,” the firm’s annual day of volunteer service to communities.
Keller Williams Realty has chosen to spend the day with the children at Waverly and Ann Hutchinson Schools for a Catch-A-Thon which will benefit the Eastchester Special Education Department. For the next two weeks children will work to be sponsored for the catch-a-thon, which will take place during recess in the school’s gym. All of the proceeds will go to the Special Education Parents Teacher Association (SEPTA).
“The Eastchester School District is pleased to participate in the Catch-A-Thon Red Day fund raiser. The Special Education Department is grateful for the generous donations that are given to our Special Education PTA to aid in funding innovative programs for our students,” said Dr. Noreen Urso, Director of Pupil Personnel Services at the Eastchester School District, in a statement.

Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates have given hundreds of thousands of hours of community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need. To this day, it is one of the largest events in the real estate industry.
“RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others,” said Team Leader Carolyn Gensch. “Last year, we hosted a lifesaving blood drive and collected over 40 pints of blood. We can’t tell you what an impact it made on each of us personally. We all know that filling all the gaps in our communities can’t be accomplished by serving just once a year. RED Day just happens to be the one-day expression of the constant state of the Keller Williams culture. We see a need, discover who can meet it and get it done.”

This year RED Day would not have been possible without the Keller Williams Realty Group Culture Committee, comprised of agents who assist with all fundraising effort for the company. This year the committee includes Margarita Kocovic, Amanda Saraceno, Sinead Couglan, Tanya Makan and Jeff Hanrahan.
