Elmsford Man, 42, Struck and Killed on Saw Mill River Parkway
According to Westchester County Police, witnesses saw Letona run "across the parkway from west to east against the light."

Hever Letona, 42, a Peruvian National living in Elmsford, was killed Wednesday night after he was struck by a car as he tried to run across the Saw Mill River Parkway at Lawrence Street in Dobbs Ferry.
According to Westchester County Police, witnesses saw Letona run ”across the parkway from west to east against the light,” making it across the southbound lanes but then being struck by a 2013 Toyota RAV4 which was traveling northbound.
“[Letona] went into cardiac arrest at the scene [after being struck] and CPR was performed by police officers and members of the Dobbs Ferry VAC,” said county police spokesman Kieran O’Leary in a statement. “He was taken to St. John’s Hospital in Yonkers where he was pronounced dead.”

The driver of the RAV4 has not been charged; county police said the driver, a 38-year-old man whose identity was not disclosed, was cooperative with authorities and that “preliminarily, drugs or alcohol do not appear to be involved.”
