Exhibit: Picturing Mary

On display next to Presepio Napoletano is an international collection of images of the Virgin Mary depicted in various art forms.

A documentary on view will take viewers on an artistic journey spanning almost two-thousand years through virtual visits of museums, chapels, and cathedrals in eight countries to view rare and sacred masterpieces by such artists as Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, and Duccio. These treasured artworks inspired by the Holy Mother, show how artists have expressed their personal devotion to the woman whose role has destined her to be exalted above others. The Picturing Mary collection is courtesy of Father Matthew R. Mauriello of St. Roch Church in Greenwich, CT.
