The First Press Now Open at The Westchester
Specialty shop featuring olive oils, vinegars and artisan goods opens first Westchester location
The Westchester recently welcomed The First Press, a retailer specializing in olive oils, vinegars and artisan goods, to its world-class line-up of stores. Located in the Neiman Marcus wing on Retail Level Three, the opening marks the retailer’s first outpost in Westchester.
“We are thrilled to welcome The First Press to the dynamic retail mix at The Westchester,” commented Paula Kelliher, area director of mall marketing for The Westchester. “Its impressive selection of gourmet flavor-infused oils, vinegars and other delectable goods has been well- received by our shoppers since its opening.”
Owned and operated by Stamford, Connecticut resident Heidi Burrows, the Westchester location joins the company’s other related business, New Canaan Olive Oil in CT.

The First Press offers a wide array of gourmet extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegars infused with fruit and wine, specialty salts, marmalades, flavor infused cane sugars, honey and maple syrup, chocolate and more. The store, which features simple, yet pleasing, décor, hosts oil and vinegar pairing samples that are changed daily. Among its offerings are custom gift baskets, which are tailored to the customer’s preferences among the store’s selection of high quality items and prepared on-site. As an added convenience, pre-made gift baskets are available for easy gift giving.
Burrows launched New Canaan Olive Oil in September 2013, after engaging in a lifestyle change that centered on healthier living and eating, of which olive oil is a main focus. Together with business partner Dan Clauson, they conducted extensive research and became entrenched and educated in the olive oil industry.

“When the opportunity arose to expand our presence via The Westchester, it was very attractive from a business perspective,” commented Burrows. “We look forward to continuing to engage with the shoppers and tantalize taste buds with our gourmet specialty offerings.”
To that end, and as a way to welcome the season of joy, The First Press will host an in-store Holiday Kick-Off Party on Sunday, November 23, from 12 to 5 p.m. with specials, prizes and a variety of samples and refreshments.
