Police arrested four people late Friday night after a series of fights broke out at the end of the Immaculate Conception School carnival in Tuckahoe.
The altercations began around 10:15 p.m. as the carnival—located off Route 22—was ending and people were beginning to leave, police said.
As police attempted to break up the main fight, secondary fights began, they said. This spilled onto Main Street, where even more fighting occurred.

Police had a handle on the situation in about 30 minutes, said Tuckahoe Police Chief John Costanzo.
At the height of the incident as many as 60 people were believed to be involved, Costanzo said, but likely not all were fighting.

Most appeared to be in their late teens and early 20s, he said.
Costanzo was told those involved were from the Bronx, Mount Vernon, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.
About 35 officers from the Tuckahoe Police Department, Bronxville Police Department, Eastchester Police Department, Yonkers Police Department, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and the MTA police all responded to the incident.
The Westchester County Aviation unit was also present and were "very helpful in breaking up some of the larger groups," Costanzo said.
As of Friday night, there were three injuries reported from the incident. The injuries were not serious and were mostly abrasions and bruises, said Costanzo.
The four arrested were charged with first-degree riot, a felony. They are due in Village Court on June 15.
The Immaculate Conception Carnival began on Thursday night and runs through Saturday.
"Historically this has been a very family-oriented event," Costanzo said of the carnival, noting that there were no major incidents prior to this.
