Grand Opening Of Paws And Play In Tuckahoe
State-of-the-Art Dog lodging, daycare, bathing and training facility held its grand opening in Tuckahoe on Thursday and would love to pamper your canine for a day.
It is probably a safe bet that 30 years ago, the notion of a “pet resort”, where dogs are given “suite style rooms” and are read a bedtime story before turning in for the night, would have been far “fetched” at best, but fast forward to the 21st century and it is now becoming more and more common for dog owners to pamper their pets and leave them in the care of licensed, professional dog handlers.
On Thursday, residents of Tuckahoe and the surrounding area got a new place to bring their dogs as Paws and Play held their grand opening celebration in their brand new, 4000 square foot indoor/outdoor facility, located at 72 Marbledale Road.

“We had a soft opening in September with only a few dogs but now we are filling up fast,” said Macmillan who said that the facility can hold up to 86 dogs at one time and that the grand opening served as a way to, “introduce ourselves to the community as well as thank our clients who have been with us since the beginning.”
With an inviting and spacious entryway, where “doggy art work” can be seen on the walls and a facility equipped to handle large and small dogs, Paws and Play wants all of the dogs who come through their doors to feel like family when clients use their facility as a home away from home.
Their hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
