House Fire in Bronxville; 1 Firefighter Injured

Eastchester Fire Department responded to a fire on Summit Ave on Monday night.

An electrical fire is believed to be the cause of a house fire that occurred at 9 Summit Ave. in Bronxville on Monday night.

The fire appeared to have been an electrical fire that spread to the structure of the house, said Eastchester Fire Chief Michael Grogan.

Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the outside of the house, he said.

According to Grogan, firefighters did "an aggressive interior attack," knocking out the fire, which was contained to the original area, close to the electrical wires.

One firefighter was injured in the incident, although the extent of the injury was not immediately known.

No occupants of the home were injured.

A total of 14 officers from the Eastchester Fire Department responded to the scene.

At about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, fire engines remained in front of the house.
