The Sharing Shelf, a program of Family Services of Westchester, collects new and gently used clothing for infants, youth and teens. The clothing is distributed to local children in need at no cost through more than 50 area social service agencies, schools, hospitals, food pantries and nonprofits. The children receive a week’s worth of seasonally appropriate clothing matched into outfits according to their sizing needs. Each year, The Sharing Shelf serves more than 2,000 Westchester children. The program was founded by a volunteer and relies on volunteers to accomplish its work.
