This series of lectures will study and discuss the unique aesthetic theory of art, as well as the sculptures of the famed Michelangelo

Michelangelo considered himself primarily a sculptor. By studying his masterworks, one can observe his aesthetic and remarkable technique through his choice of subject and his use of the human figure. In this introduction to Michelangelo’s techniques, you will analyze some of his major works from his early years to mid-career. This period will show his emergence as an original and unique artist. Artwork includes: the Pietá, Statue of David, Moses and the series of “slaves”. Presented by Professor John Coppola, MFA MA.
