Music at Asbury Presents Keremedjiev Duo, Sunday, February 7 at 3 pm

Husband and wife guitar and vocal duo to perform diverse program of classical, folk, and popular music titled "Music From Around the World."

Asbury United Methodist Church is excited to continue the second season of its series of concerts, Music at Asbury on Sunday, January 24 at 3 p.m. Husband-and-wife duo Victor Keremedjiev, guitar, and Gemma Keremedjiev, vocalist, will present a diverse program of classical, folk, and popular music from a dozen countries titled “Music From Around the World,” complete with interesting facts and anecdotes about the composers, the styles, and the history of many beloved tunes as well as new discoveries. Concerts are held in the sanctuary at Asbury United Methodist Church, 167 Scarsdale Rd, Tuckahoe, NY; ample parking is available. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Victor Keremedjiev performs extensively throughout the metropolitan area as a soloist and chamber musician. His interpretation of 19th-century guitar music earned him top honors at the International Guitar Competition in Stresa, Italy. He has been a member of the faculty of Montclair State University and currently teaches at County College of Morris; he also directs The Classical Guitar Studio of Denville, New Jersey. Gemma Keremedjiev has studied voice extensively with some of the finest coaches on the east coast. Her vocal flexibility has enabled her to perform a wide range of musical styles from classical to jazz, popular and ethnic repertoire. She has appeared with the Oratorio Society of New Jersey and the St. Peter Claver Baroque Chorale. The Keremedjievs and pianist Albert Stanziano have recently recorded a classical CD entitled Cantando In Liberta which is available for purchase at cdbaby.com.
