The last time we went on a scavenger hunt, it was in Boston in the mid-90’s, and involved various borderline illegal acts as part of a fraternity pledging ritual, otherwise known as hazing.
Twenty years later (crikey!) and we’re more in tune with the type of scavenger hunt and Bronxville Historical Conservancy are putting on this Memorial Day weekend.
“More Cues & Clues” is geared to the K-5 set , their parents and grandparents, and focuses on the library’s art collection.

According to Conservancy Co-Chair Jayne Warman, an originator of the historical scavenger hunt concept, “we feel this is a fun way to expand the knowledge and understanding of Bronxville history for our young people and to draw their attention to the Library’s wonderful art collection.”
To participate, pick up your clue booklet at the library anytime this week, follow the clues, and fill out out your booklet. And by you, we mean your kids.

Then, on Sunday May 29, come back to the library between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for prizes, refreshments, and more fun.
Once again, the library and the Historical Conservancy impress us with their dedication to local children and the parents who struggle to find educational activities for them.
Oh, and if you were parked in Beacon Hill in April of 1992 and lost a license plate, we apologize, and know where you can find it.
