AUTHORITY is a word that is fraught with tension. In our world, true authority isn’t given by position, but earned in relationships that cultivate love, dignity and respect. Jesus had authority not because of his position as a prophet/teacher son of a carpenter, but because his words reflected his life. He treated all people with love and dignity despite the cultural norms to exclude others based on gender, disability, socio-economic standing and racial/ethnic background. Jesus has a new teaching—with authority to share with us today! Fellowship hour follows worship. Free parking.
