New TGI Fridays Opens Nearby

TGI Fridays, the popular bar/restaurant chain, has opened a new location in White Plains at 250 Main St., creating about 150 new jobs in the area, according to officials.

“White Plains is the perfect community for our newest location,” said Kris Swenson, Bar Manager for TGI Fridays White Plains, in a statement. “It’s a young, social and growing area, and Fridays’ energetic vibe, fun Team Members, great food and hand-crafted cocktails are the perfect fit for our new Westchester County neighborhood.”

On Wednesday, the establishment will hold a “red carpet grand opening celebration” with community leaders and guests. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visit www.fridaysevents.com for more information about the grand opening.

The new restaurant reflects TGI Fridays’ latest, modern design concept, creating a fun, lively atmosphere with a dramatically redesigned bar as the focal point of the location. Fridays White Plains is part of a larger re-imaging campaign that is rolling out at Fridays across the country.

Along with the opening, TGI Fridays will offer a celebratory “Dine and Drink for $10” promotion through Sunday, January 25. Guests can choose from a selection of entrées, including lower-calorie options, paired with a beverage, including cocktails or domestic drafts – all for just $10. Fridays will also offer its line-up of Happy Hour and Day of Week Specials, as well as the signature cocktails it’s famous for, mixed and muddled by Fridays’ famous Bartenders.

Starting Saturday, January 10, it will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week. TGI Fridays hired 150 people from the broader White Plains community to support guests at the new restaurant.
