No Trick or Treating in Eastchester Today

Town officials have announced that there be no trick or treating today due to dangerous conditions still present in Eastchester.

 

The following is from Eastchester Town Clerk Linda Doherty regarding Halloween in Eastchester.

It is the recommendation of Town government that there be NO trick or treating tonight Oct. 31.

In lieu of tonight, trick or treating is recommended for Saturday, Nov. 3 provided Con Edison has made significant progress. 

All trick or treating shall occur during daylight hours.

It is important that children be supervised by an adult at all times.  Avoid any streets without street lights, downed wires, (PRESUME ALL WIRES ARE LIVE) dark houses, areas with downed trees and any area that is secured with barricades, caution tape or other safety apparatus.

It is possible that Halloween may NOT occur on Saturday Nov. 3 if Con Edison is unable to make significant progress in the Town. 

Another email will follow confirming Saturday or recommending a further date.
