Dog of the Week: Belinda

Breed: Beagle mix

Age: 4 years old

Bio: Belinda is a super-friendly Beagle mix who was brought in after a Con Edison worker found her next door to the Yonkers Shelter alone and crying. It seems that her owner had tied poor Belinda to a fence and left her in the rain. The kind worker shared his sandwich with Belinda, before bringing her into the shelter to get dried off. Belinda weighs about 40 pounds, although shelter workers say she would be better off around 35 pounds. She is a truly sweet dog, easy to care for, a good walker and gets along great with other dogs.

Cat of the Week: Kittens

Bio: It’s officially kitten season, and the Yonkers Shelter has many adorable kittens ready to go off to new homes. White, black, grey, smoke – whatever color you are looking for, shelter volunteers will help you find a kitten for you. They would all make excellent family pets so stop by today and come see them!
