Pic of the Day: Hidden Secrets of 81 Pondfield

How often do you stroll along Pondfield Rd., particularly on the north side of the street and really take in the architecture?

Well 81 Pondfield Rd. in particular has some hidden secrets to it that some residents of Bronxville may not be aware of.

Sure it is home to the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce, Pansini Stone Setting and a law firm among other things, but just above the doorway are three pictures carved into the building.

One depicts what I would assume to be a golfer or perhaps a baseball player, with the scene below him of a man sitting by a tree with a dog.

The second picture shows a tree with a deer adjacent to it and a man on what seems like horseback riding alongside.

The final picture shows a group of people, holding hands near a tree.

Mind you, these are just my assessments of the pictures but I encourage you to take note next time you are passing by 81 Pondfield Rd. and create your own meaning out of the three mysterious pictures on the building.
