For those who work for the Town of Eastchester, every day is a constant reminder of the loss suffered by the back on March 21, 1996, when officer Michael Frey was killed while responding to a distress call at an Eastchester home.
In the months and years following his death, Eastchester officials made it a point that his life would never be forgotten, with Officer Frey's name becoming the placenote for many locations around town.

This March will mark 17 years since that fateful day in the department's history and hopefully, without the need for a calendar anniversary, residents will take the time before the long, dark days of winter arrive, to sit in the plaza that bears his name and take time to reflect on the sacrifice made that day.
