A look at some of the recent incidents investigated by the Bronxville Police Department.

Aug. 17
A Bolton Gardens resident reported an unknown amount of U.S. coin stolen from the console of her Land Rover sometime between the night of Aug. 16 and the morning of Aug. 17. The vehicle was parked in front of the victim’s residence, unlocked and unalarmed.

A Bolton Gardens resident reported an iPod valued at $200.00 was stolen from his Subaru sometime between the night of Aug. 16 and the morning of Aug. 17. The victim’s vehicle was parked in front of his residence, unlocked and unalarmed.

Bronxville Police Officer James Mazzucca arrested Andrew Pappas, a 67-year-old resident of Canandagua, NY, after Pappas had become disruptive and unruly while in Rosie’s Bistro on 10 Palmer Avenue. Responding officers attempted to have Pappas leave the premises without incident, however Pappas refused, before making physical contact with Officer Mazzucca, after which he was placed under arrest and charged with harassment in the second degree, a violation. Pappas is due back in Bronxville Court on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. to answer the charge.
Aug. 22
Bronxville Police detained 23-year-old Mount Vernon resident Todd Simmons after an officer’s police vehicle-mounted license plate reader signaled Simmons was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration due to a lapse in insurance. Simmons’ vehicle was impounded, and Simmons was issues several traffic tickets and directed to return to the Bronxville Court on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. to answer the charges.
Message from Bronxville Police Department: Residents are reminded to always lock their cars once they are no longer using them, even if they are parked in front of their homes. Also, it is advised to remove all valuable items once leaving your car, or at least removing them from plain sight.
