Police: Scarsdale Woman, 50, Talks on Cell Phone, Gets Arrested on Felony DWI Charge

A 50-year-old Scarsdale woman was arrested on a felony Driving While Intoxicated charge Monday in Copake after state troopers pulled her over for talking on a cell phone, and subsequently discovering that she was convicted of DWI six years ago, according to state police.

Kelly A. Mazzuchelli was stopped just before 4 p.m. on County Route 7, and troopers’ investigation “revealed that Mazzuchelli was intoxicated at the time of the stop.” Police also saw her conviction of DWI from 2008.

On November 17, 2014 at approximately 3:48 p.m., New York State Police from the Livingston barracks charged Kelly A. Mazzuchelli, 50 years old, of Scarsdale, New York, with Felony Driving While Intoxicated. Mazzuchelli was charged with felony DWI after investigation revealed that she was convicted of a DWI in 2008.

Troopers stopped a vehicle traveling on County Route 7 after witnessing the driver, later identified as Mazzuchelli, using a cell phone. Investigation revealed that Mazzuchelli was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Mazzuchelli was arraigned before the Town of Copake Court and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Copake Court on December 22, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.
