Report: Westchester Man Struck by Lightning

The man was hit by lightning while he was fishing at Cove Island Park in Stamford.

A 30-year-old Port Chester man was reportedly hospitalized in serious but stable condition after he was struck by lightning while fishing Saturday at Cove Island Park in Stamford, according to the Connecticut Post.

The man, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was knocked unconscious and suffered burns to his stomach and groin area after his fishing pole was struck by lightning during Saturday’s storm, writes the Post.

He was taken to Stamford Hospital but may be transferred to the Bridgeport Hospital burn unit, Stamford Police Lt. Diedrich Hohn told the Post.
