Yonkers Man Sentenced to Prison for 2015 Stabbing Death

A jury convicted him in January of manslaughter.

A Yonkers man will spend 22 years in state prison for the stabbing death of David Benitez.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office said Antonio Barnett, 23, was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies, in January.

Barnett used a large kitchen knife to kill Benitez in April 2015 after he chased him around an apartment complex.

The knife was recovered on the roof of nearby building.

After the sentencing, Barnett was remanded to the New York State Department of Corrections.

He will also be required to undergo five years post-release supervision.
