Settlement Reached Against Eastchester For Vehicle Damage
The Council voted unanimously to approve a resolution for a settlement in the amount of $4,500 for damages sustained to a resident's vehicle in a 2010 incident.

Finally putting the matter to rest, Councilman Joseph Dooley offered a motion at Tuesday evening's Town Council meeting to approve a resolution authorizing the settlement of a claim by Bankers Standard Insurance Company in the amount of $4,500.
Brought forth by John and Linda Porpora against the Town of Eastchester, the settlement covers damages sustained to their vehicle when back on May 26, 2010, the vehicle was struck accidently by an Eastchester Highway Department vehicle.

With the original law suit against the village slated for over $14,000, Town officials felt that this settlement was the best recourse of action, given the lenghthy and costly procedures that they could still face without settling.
