SUV Crashes into Utility Pole; Shuts Down White Plains Rd.
The accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. right outside Concordia college, sending one person to the hospital and creating a dangerous situation for pedestrians in the area.
An accident involving a blue Toyota SUV occured at about 2:30 p.m. on White Plains Rd. directly in front of .
Witnesses say they heard a loud bang and that when they looked up, the SUV which was traveling northbound on White Plains Rd. and occupied by only the driver had struck a utility pole right in front of the college, damaging the pole and spinning the vehicle around into the entrance to Concordia.

No word yet on what caused the accident and officials at the scene have secured the area because the utility pole was heavily damaged by the vehicle.
White Plains Rd. will remain shut down in both directions until Police can safely fix the damaged utility pole and the driver was treated at the scene by EVAC and send to the hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
