Temporary Interim Director Named for Bronxville Library

The Board of Trustees of the inched one step closer to finding a permanent replacement for former Library Director , naming Bronxville resident Linda Smith Shearer as Temporary Interim Director, effective immediately. 

Smith-Shearer has many years of experience with non-profit organizations, including seven years as the Executive Director of the Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.

“Linda is the perfect person to serve in the interim capacity for the next few months and she has extensive management experience," said Kathy Mullen, Board President.

"As a long-time resident and a board member of the Friends of the Bronxville Public Library, she understands our community and library system,” she continued.

The Board of Trustees is still currently conducting a search for a permanent Director but Smith-Shearer says that the Bronxville Library is a very special place for her.

“The Bronxville Public Library is such a special Village treasure”, stated Smith-Shearer.

"I’ve enjoyed getting to know more about its programs and operations as a member of the Friends these past five years and we are so fortunate to have an incredibly experienced, dedicated, and welcoming Library staff."
