A look at some of the incidents investigated by theTuckahoe Police Department for the week of August 9 - August 15, 2010. 

August 10:

10: 29 a.m. The license plate reader detected that the registration on a 2003 BMW, which was parked in the Lake Ave lot, was suspended. On account of an insurance lapse, it had been suspended since July 27. Police impounded the license plates, issued a parking summons and left forms on the car.

11:41 a.m. The license plate reader detected that the registration of a 1997 Lexus, which was parked in Depot Square, was suspended. It had been suspended on account of an insurance lapse since July 1. Police impounded the plates, issued a parking summons and left forms on the car. About an hour after the incident, the owner of the car showed police information from the DMV that the suspension had been cleared. The plates were returned.  

7:48 p.m. Police received a report from a caller who had seen a man staring at people for a few minutes in the Circuit Avenue park and was concerned. When officers responded, they found the man that matched the description the caller provided, who said he wasn't staring at anyone. A criminal history came back negative.

August 11:

12:19 a.m. A 19-year-old Eastchester resident was arrested for assault, 3rd after allegedly hitting another person in the face. He supposedly hit the victim for having texted a female friend and calling her a derogatory name. He was due in court on August 17. The victim, who had flagged down police, had swelling and redness on his left eye, although he did not want medical treatment. He was issued an order of protection.

12:49 p.m. A license plate reader detected that the registration of a 2010 Mercedes Benz, which was parked in the Lake Avenue lot, was suspended. It had been suspended since July 30 on account of an insurance lapse. The plates were impounded, parking summons issued and forms left on the car. Later that afternoon, the owner provided notice that he had cleared up the issue with the DMV and the plates were returned.

August 13:

8:11 p.m. Police received a report from a caller that a group of youths looked to be either breaking into or damaging the back of 38-40 Midland Place. When police investigated, the youths said they were played hide and seek. The building had no damage.

August 14:

10:18 a.m. An employee from First Stop Café reported to police that there was a woman outside bothering customers. Police spoke with the woman who said that she was homeless and had accidentally gotten off the train at Tuckahoe from the Bronx. She was asking people for money so she could get back. Police took the woman to the station, where she got on a southbound train.

6:41 p.m. A resident told police that three male youths had stolen a bike and a scooter from his front yard while he was out. His neighbors, who had seen what happened, informed him of the missing property. When neighbors approached the three youths, they had simply kept walking. The owner of the items was able to find the three and get the items back. He wanted to report the matter to police. Officers weren't able to locate the three.
