Tuckahoe Police Blotter: July 13 - 18: Two Cars Damaged

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Tuckahoe Police Department for the week of July 13 – July 18, 2010.

 

July 14:

7:44 p.m. Police received two calls that someone had left their keys in the truck lock of an Alfa Romeo. The car was parked at the Getty gas station at the intersection of Columbus and Lincoln Avenues. Police investigated and found the owner, who was across the street. The owner said he had forgotten to take the keys out.

July 15:

8:15 a.m. A caller reported that her car, which was parked on Parkview Place, had been damaged. The caller had parked the car there at 10:30 p.m. and when she returned at 7:45 a.m. the next day, the driver's side mirror had been damaged.

 

July 16:

4:18 a.m. A caller reported that she heard fireworks twice—once a half-hour before calling, and again right before she phoned police. After canvassing the area, police found firework material on the sidewalk, but did not locate anyone. 

 

July 17:

6:33 p.m. A caller reported that she had gotten into a car accident at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Main Street and explained that the driver of the other vehicle, who hit her car from behind, left the scene. The car sustained damage to the rear passenger side bumper. The passenger gave police a license plate number, which matched the description of the car that fled, and was tracked to the Bronx. Police have been unable to make contact with the owner and detectives are currently investigating the matter.

 

July 18:

4:13 a.m. A caller reported that a car the caller didn't recognize had been parked near North High Street for about two hours. Police investigated and found two people kissing in the car. Police advised the two to go elsewhere and they left.
