Tuckahoe Police Blotter June 7 – 13: Two Car Accidents with Injuries, Missing Jewelry

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Tuckahoe Police Department for the week of June 7 – 13, 2010.

June 7

9:40 p.m. A resident of Fairview Ave. reported that two pieces of jewelry were missing from her apartment: a semi-precious amethyst valued at $1,000 and a gold chain valued at $100. She told police that she had various friends staying with her over the past month. She doesn't know who may have taken the jewelry.

June 8

6:29 p.m. A caller told police that he received an unsolicited check for $3,300 from Plimus, Inc. He said there was no letter or request included with the check and he thought it might be a scam. Police advised him to call Plimus and find out where the check might have come from.

June 11

2:55 p.m. The Eastchester Police Department called the TPD to report that there was a car accident with injuries at White Plains Rd, off of Winterhill. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered one of the drivers was having trouble breathing was complaining of back pain, EVAC took the driver to Lawrence Hospital. Both cars, a 1998 Lexus and a 2007 Dodge, sustained minor damage.

June 12

7:45 a.m. Both the police and fire departments were called to Sagamore Road, after a report that a car had hit someone. Upon arrival, the police found the 61-year-old victim sitting on the ground against a car and being assisted by two women. The woman, who had been hit as she was walking to her car, had a head laceration and complained of foot pain. The driver, a 91-year-old, was given an Alco sensor to see if there was any presence of alcohol, which there wasn't. Witnesses' say the driver was driving slowly, but possibly too close to the cars parked on the side of the road.

10:48 p.m. Police were called to Lime Kiln Road after reports of a loud party going on in one of the apartments. A group of 15- to 17-year-olds were in the apartment but police found no alcohol or illegal activity. However, since no adults were present, the teens were told to go home.
