Weather Update: Weekend Washout
The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain, possible thunderstorms, and gusty winds this weekend throughout Westchester County.

This weekend is looking to be an almost complete washout with windswept soaking rains and possible thunderstorms forecast beginning mid-afternoon on Saturday, intensifying in the evening hours and not tapering off until Sunday afternoon.
In fact, the forecast even calls for a chance of rain Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather predicts the storms will dissipate by late Sunday morning, but before then the region could see 2 inches of rainfall.

“As it stands now (as of Thursday night), the rain should reach the Hudson Valley around mid day on Saturday. The timing will need to be ironed out, but the chance for showers will exist even during the morning hours on Saturday,” Potter writes. “By afternoon… it’s a washout. Periods of rain (heavy at times) will fall Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. In addition… it will be raw and chilly, with a stiff east wind and highs likely staying in the 60s on Saturday.”
Temperatures during the day Saturday likely won’t reach 70 degrees, and the lows in some parts of the county could sink to 60 or a tad below, according to the NWS.
