Weekly Sports Round-Up: Snow Days Cause Schedule Problems

Local teams must rush to qualify for postseason on account of all the snow in the last month.

The snowy winter, which is causing school closures and postponements of after-school activities, is forcing high school teams to make up cancelled games in order to qualify for postseason play.

Tuckahoe and Eastchester played a scheduled game last week and made up a previously cancelled game scheduled to be played in mid January this week. The Tigers took both games, defeating the Eagles 65-56 in the most recent match-up on Feb. 3.

Jason Feuer led the Tigers’ scoring with 24 points, including 10 in the third quarter when Tuckahoe outscored Eastchester 20-13 to break a 24-24 halftime tie. Feuer also had four rebounds and three assists. Sky Williams added 18 points—12 in the fourth quarter—for the Tigers.
