Westchester Jewish Council 39th Anniversary Gala

Honoring Executive Director Elliot Forchheimer for his 10 years of dedicated service to the Westchester Community

The Westchester Jewish Council will celebrate its 39th Anniversary Gala, “Westchester State of Mind”, on Saturday, January 24, 7:15pm at Beth El Synagogue Center, 1324 North Avenue, New Rochelle. The celebration will honor Westchester Jewish Council Executive Director, Elliot Forchheimer for his 10 years of dedication and service to the Westchester Jewish community.

The evening will feature a cocktail dinner, dairy dessert and a Billy Joel tribute by the “Piano Man” Henry Haid from Broadway’s Tony Award winning musical Movin’ Out and his band Glass Houses. Kosher dietary laws will be observed.

Elliot has devoted his entire career to the Jewish community including positions at UJA-Federation of New York, Young Israel of Scarsdale, The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, Camp Ramah and the New Jersey Y Camps. For the past 10 years, Elliot has served as the Executive Director of the Westchester Jewish Council, the preeminent Jewish organization in Westchester which connects Westchester’s Jewish communities and strengthens relationships among over 155 Jewish organizations and other ethnic and faith based groups, elected officials, Israel and the community at large.

“Throughout his tenure as Director, Elliot has displayed incredible leadership skills taking the Council to new heights. Elliot’s passion, intelligence and tenacity have enabled the Westchester Jewish Council to grow in both size and impact”, said Paul Warhit, President, Westchester Jewish Council. “Elliot’s hard work and commitment has enhanced the lives of over 150,000 Westchester Jews. At the same time, Elliot has remained the same humble and hard-working person that allowed him to climb the Jewish communal ladder. I, along with my fellow board members, am delighted to formally recognize Elliot for all he does for our community.”

Elliot resides in Mamaroneck, NY with his wife Joan. They have two children, Ilana a freshman at Binghamton University and Jacob, a junior at Schechter Westchester.
