White Plains Rotary Club to Host Dining Experience for the Homeless

Celebrated Chef Peter Kelly will transform Grace's Kitchen into a dining destination at 'An Evening to Remember'

White Plains, NY, June 5, 2015 -- The Rotary Club of White Plains, along with Celebrated Chef Peter Kelly, will transform Grace’s Kitchen into a dining destination for homeless Westchester residents on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 5:30 PM. Grace’s Kitchen is located at 33 Church Street in downtown White Plains.

“It is our intention to create a dining experience for one night that will allow our guests to enjoy an evening of extraordinary hospitality,” said Heather Miller, president of The Rotary Club of White Plains. “At the same time, it’s an opportunity to raise funds to feed more needy families in our community.”

Westchester County residents have the highest per capita income in New York State, yet it has a significant homeless population. Shelters house more than 804 residents on any given night and soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters feed more than 200,000 County residents annually. “The face of the homeless has changed and none of us is immune,” Miller points out. “So we want to shine a light on this extraordinary problem right here in our backyard as we ‘turn the tables’ for one evening. An Evening to Remember will allow Westchester homeless to experience a wonderful night of gracious hospitality.”
