Yonkers Blaze Displaces 18 Residents, Injures 5 Firefighters
The injuries were considered minor.

A fire Wednesday afternoon on Lamartine Avenue in Yonkers displaced 18 residents and injured five firefighters, according to media reports.
The fire was not easy to control, writes News 12 Westchester.
“It was all in the walls. Labor intensive,” Yonkers Assistant Fire Chief Dave Dronzek told News 12. “We chased it from 1, 2, 3. Our guys did a great job of tracking it down.”

The firefighters suffered minor injuries, according to The Journal News, and no other injuries were reported.
Four families live in the home, and Red Cross officials are helping the 13 adults and five children find temporary shelter.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it was not considered suspicious.
