BROOKLYN, NY — A man was stabbed to death near a Brooklyn playground on Tuesday morning, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to police, at 8:45 a.m., a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen by an unknown perpetrator at the corner of Flushing Avenue and Steuben Street, right near Steuben Playground on the southeastern edge of the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

The perpetrator fled in an unknown direction, and no arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is underway, police said. Police said that there was no known motive.

The 21-year-old was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead, NYPD officials said.
