Suspect And Victim IDed In Fatal Brooklyn Playground Stabbing: NYPD
The fatal stabbing happened at Flushing Avenue and Steuben Street, right near Steuben Playground, on Tuesday morning.
BROOKLYN, NY — Police have identified the victim of Tuesday's fatal Steuben Playground stabbing as 21-year-old Daniel Becerra Izarra, New York City Police Department officials said on Friday.
The police have also identified a suspect connected to the incident as 23-year-old Lewis Aranguren.
The fatal stabbing happened at Flushing Avenue and Steuben Street, right near Steuben Playground on the southeastern edge of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, on Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m.

Becerra Izarra was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead, NYPD officials said.
The perpetrator fled in an unknown direction, and no arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is underway, police said. Police said that there was no known motive.
