7 Brooklyn Gang Members Accused Of Drive-By Shooting On Father's Day

The charges are part of an ongoing effort to stop the Brooklyn gang.

BROOKLYN, NY — Six suspected members of a Brooklyn-based gang called Folk Nation Gangster Disciples were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of a drive-by shooting on Father's Day 2022, Brooklyn federal court officials said.

The defendants are named Kwyme Waddell, Paolo Alfarobarber, Rahim Frank, Mikey Jemison, Sebastian Jocelyn, and Jahi Nimmons.

Joel Myrie, a Brooklynite who is also part of the indictment, is still at large.

U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said the seven men are accused of four counts of murder conspiracy, attempted murder, and various firearm charges.

Peace said that Waddell and Alfarobarber are suspected of shooting a 28-year-old and then jumping into a stolen Dodge with Jocelyn and Myrie and driving to Canarsie on June 19, 2022, which was Father's Day.

Once in Canarsie, Peace said, Frank, Jemison and Nimmons joined the convoy, and the group shot multiple times into a group of people on East 94th Street, striking a victim who survived his injuries.

“We allege that, rather than celebrating families on Father’s Day, the defendants terrorized Brooklyn residents by spraying bullets onto a residential street with total disregard for human life,” Peace said.

This is the latest attempt from the court to dismantle the Folk Nation Gangster Disciples. So far, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn has prosecuted members of the gang seven other times for things like firearm possession, car robbery and racketeering.
