Fast Buses: Mayor Mamdani Breaks Ground on New Bus Lanes and Safety Upgrades on Brooklyn's Bay Parkway and Cropsey Avenue (nyc.gov) β Bus riders in southern Brooklyn will soon see faster trips and safer crossings as the city redesigns Bay Parkway and Cropsey Avenue with new bus lanes, turn restrictions, and pedestrian islands. The project targets notoriously slow B6 and B82 routes and high-crash intersections, aiming to improve commutes for tens of thousands of daily riders between Midwood, Bensonhurst, and Bath Beach.

Historic Brooklyn firehouse becomes new home for music program (pix11.com) β A long-vacant historic firehouse in Cobble Hill is being transformed into a $17.8 million permanent home for the Noel Pointer Foundation, bringing free music education and performance space to Brooklyn students. Funded by the city and the Brooklyn borough president, the project will add lesson rooms, studios, a performance hall, and a garden, with construction expected to take about two years.
