Body Pulled From Water Near Brooklyn Park, NYPD Says

Police responded to the area near Calvert Vaux Park in Brooklyn this weekend, where a man's body was discovered along the shoreline.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are investigating after a man’s body was found near the water at Calvert Vaux Park in Brooklyn over the weekend.

The NYPD said officers recovered the man’s body near Bay 44th St. and Shore Pkwy. in Bath Beach around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The unidentified man was found lying face down on the shoreline and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

Police have not released his identity as of Monday morning.

The Office of the City Medical Examiner is still working to determine the cause of death, officials added.

This incident comes just weeks after another man's body was found near the Red Hook shoreline—witnesses told News 12 Brooklyn the skeletal remains appeared "small in stature" on rocks near the pier.
