BP Adams Releases Statement On Start Oh Phase 1B COVID-19 Vaccinations

"New Yorkers are seeing a lot more rhetoric than results in the early weeks of this mass vaccination campaign."

January 8 2021

“New Yorkers are seeing a lot more rhetoric than results in the early weeks of this mass vaccination campaign. They are getting sick of the finger pointing from City Hall to the State Capitol and back. They know the only thing that can heal them and kickstart our recovery is getting COVID-19 vaccines in as many arms as possible, with a real-time assessment that ensures our most highly impacted ZIP codes are sufficiently supplied and staffed.

“It is good news that our call to expand vaccine eligibility has been heard, but we must see on the ground if that turns into real action. This mission demands a 24/7, all-hands mobilization. We need to get New Yorkers pre-registered now so that not a single dose is wasted in our pursuit of herd immunity. I urge the Mayor and Governor to implement our vaccine distribution plan in full, including a far more robust public education campaign led by credible messengers in our most vulnerable communities. A piecemeal approach will not save lives.”
