DSNY Truck Driver Hits Teenager In Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY — A 14-year-old girl was hospitalized early Monday morning after she was struck by a New York City Department of Sanitation truck.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Wortman and Georgia avenues.

Police reported the incident took place around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

A 39-year-old man was operating the DSNY truck when it struck the teenager. The driver remained at the scene following the incident.

Police sources indicated that the 14-year-old girl suffered injuries to her leg.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported her to a local hospital.
